Sports Suck

The Pittsburgh Steelers ran over the Cincinnati Bengals to advance to the next round of the playoffs. The defense played very well with a “bend but not break” attitude which can’t be said for Carson Palmer’s knee.

A committee on academic performance for the NCAA announced that men’s football, baseball, and basketball sports are in the worse academic peril of all college sports. On the other hand, the athletes have higher salaries than all the people on the committee.

Seattle Seahawks tackle Sean Locklear was charged with assault after grabbing his girlfriend by the neck. Locklear will argue that the judge should be lenient because the Colts choked harder than he did.

The Los Angeles Lakers signed forward Ronny Turiaf less than six months after open hear surgery. They were going to do a physical but decided to bypass it.

Grant Hill injury update: He will travel to Philadelphia to have his sports hernia reevaluated.

18 year old Marco Andretti showed remarkable progress in his first test sessions as an IRL driver. Marco is the son of Michael Andretti and the grandson of Mario Andretti. Both Michael and Mario wanted to be at the test, but on the way to the track Michael crashed into the back of Mario’s car that had just blown an engine.

Pitcher Denny Neagle will go to court on Jan. 30 to defend a charge of prostitution. The story goes, allegedly, that a police officer ticketed him for a traffic violation, and the woman in the car said he paid her $40 for a sex act. Neagle told the officer he was dropping the woman off. The officer asked him again, and Neagle said he had acted foolishly and wanted a sex act. According to police, that wasn’t the only save that was blown that night.
